winter white

This week's Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab World blog is this gorgeous three tier wedding cake. It tempted me all week and I finally got a chance to play this morning. (My first time!)

Let me just say, I would not want to be the cake server at this wedding reception. How could you bear to cut into this work of art...?

I jotted down a few notes: white + cream, overlapping flowers, rounded corners, pearls. Instead of doing a wedding card, I decided to go with a birthday theme. Here's what I came up with:

The cut out flowers on the cake made me think of the new Hero Arts Daisy Outline Pattern, which I stamped onto white cardstock with Soft Sand Shadow Ink. I added the slightest touch of pink because it just seemed more "birthday-ish" that way. :)

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you're enjoying the weekend! We're finally getting some of the "winter white" stuff here and I'm loving it. Hope it sticks!

Oh, heart! This is gorgeous! Don't you think a white on white challenge would be fun at Hero? :)) Or tone on tone? Beautifully done, Tami!

just came across you blog - gorgeous cards! can I ask how you photo your cards in such a way that you are able to capture the embossing so clearly? any photos I've tried to take of embossing never seem to come out! thanks for taking the time to read this!
