must. ink. now.

Sometimes, ya just can't wait to test out an ink pad until you get home from the store.

Even if home is less than a mile away. :)

Maybe I need to start keeping a test stamp in my glove compartment at all times. One can never be too prepared. :)

Anyone else guilty of this?

studio calico + hero arts blog hop

I'm so excited to be a part of the Studio Calico + Hero Arts blog hop today!

Let's cut right to the chase. I am in serious LOVE with these new stamp designs! My heart skipped a beat the day they arrived, and several have since found a home in my "most used" basket pile. I know you're going to love them too! (FYI, stamps will be available in August.)

Today I'm sharing a home decor project -- a little something I made for my daughter's room. After printing the song lyrics onto white cardstock, I filled the canvas with lots of Studio Calico + Hero Arts images. No patterned paper here, just pure stamps and ink.

Here's a closer look at the cute woodgrain cloud, fabulous circle designs, and sweet polka dot butterfly. Oh, and the grid pattern in the background...yum!

---- New Studio Calico + Hero Arts stamps used ----
ST508 "My Happy" (circle frame) • ST509 "Hooray" (cloud)
ST510 "You are the Best" (floral circle) • ST503 "Grid Pattern"

Don’t forget there are stamps up for grabs! Be sure to comment here and on ALL of the designer's blogs for a chance to win. Hero Arts is giving away 5 sets each day of the hop, Monday through Wednesday, with the winners drawn from all blog hop comments.

Next up is the blog of Studio Calico design team member Kelly Noel. CLICK HERE to see what she's created today!

Have fun hopping, and thanks so much for stopping by! :)

simple summer birthday card

Sometimes, you just need a simple little birthday card to throw on top of the gift before you walk out the door. Know what I mean? This is one such card, easy to whip up in a few minutes. :)

It went on top of a plain kraft paper wrapped package, not in an envelope or anything. Even though I'm addicted to buying wrapping paper, kraft is my go-to. Trusty ol' kraft...gotta love it!

Something else I'm loving is the flower stamp on this card, from the Hero Arts/BasicGrey set called Butterflies and Print. The stamp with all the words (Life of the Party Words) is the stamp of the week at Hero Arts this week -- it's a fun one too! Did you see the scene Jennifer created with it here? Brilliant, I tell you.

Work is super busy and my house is in desperate need of of a good cleaning. Or any cleaning for that matter. ;) We've been enjoying summer and lots of this...

My husband coaches both daughter's teams so we spend many an evening at the ballpark this time of year.

Hope you're enjoying summer!
