double stamped lotus background

Hello there! Quick share today...

The design here is pretty straightforward. First I stamped the circle doily from the Hero Arts/BasicGrey Picadilly Hello There set (coming in October!) in black. Then, I masked it off and stamped the Lotus Background not once, but twice, over the top. The second generation impression was given a little mist of water. I like to change the look of a background stamp by double stamping it like this every now and then. It's all about the versatility! Oh, and the background is also misted lightly with Perfect Pearls and water, but the sun didn't want to come out so I had trouble capturing it in the photo.

So happy the weekend has rolled around. Do you have any fun plans? I have a little birthday shopping to do for a soon-to-be 10 year old. No more single digits around here...we're movin' on up! Ready or not. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

circle window sympathy card

I've needed to send quite a few sympathy cards this year and I'm sad to say, here's another. These don't ever get any easier to make, but I always keep them on the simple side.

I punched a 2" circle from the front of the card, so that the inside shows through the window when the card is closed. Here's a closer look...

Stamps: Hero Arts (La Lettre, With Sympathy, Leaf Prints)
Paper: Hero Arts Floral Designer Paper
Embellishments: Hero Arts Lavender Pearls, Glossy Accents

Thanks for stopping by! I think I'm off to stamp for a bit more...that Sally has me itching to splatter some paint around tonight. :)

Nite!

hero arts holiday blog hop

Hello and welcome to my stop on the Hero Arts Joy to You Holiday 2011 Blog Hop! I have a few things to share with you today, all created with new stamps from Joy to You! Here's a peek. A bit of Christmas, a bit of Halloween...

First off, a Christmas card that uses one wood, one clear, and one cling stamp -- how's that for spreading the love around? :) The trees are from LP222 Merry Holiday, the sentiment from CL543 Very Merry Christmas, and the background from CG324 Holiday Background. This is a "white Christmas card"...not because it's white, but because I only used white cardstock. All of the color comes from ink.

Next up is a one layer card with some simple masking. F5536 Peace Ornament was an instant favorite with my two daughters! I wanted to pair the image with a "peace" message and found the perfect one in the CG389 Wishes Come True set. This card would be really easy to mass produce, and is mail-friendly too.

Shifting gears now to Halloween! Some great Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving stamps can be found on pages 28-31 of the Joy to You catalog. Isn't this tree from CG393 So Scary cool? To make this card, I took a piece of patterned paper from the BasicGrey Out of Print collection (like this, only scaled down to 6" x 6"), inked it, then inked it some more! Shades of purple, orange and green Distress Inks were blended, and bold black images stamped over the top. I had the most fun making this card!

Once in Halloween mode, I whipped up a clean and simple mini card using images from the CL560 Spooky Halloween clear set.

ALL of the stamps shown today are now available right here in the Hero Arts Online Store! Would you like to win some of the new holiday stamps? Be sure to comment here and on the rest of the hop stops for a chance. Oh, and here's a look at the fabulous stamps Hero Arts is giving away!
