hero arts 2014 catalog blog hop

Hello and welcome to the next stop on the Hero Arts 2014 Catalog Blog Hop! Today I'm so excited to be bringing you a peek at some fun goodies you'll find in the new Hero Arts Catalog, which will be revealed in full tomorrow over on the Hero Arts blog. Always one of the best days of the year! :)

The cards I'm sharing today, believe it or not, are stamp-free. (I know, right?!) I can't remember the last time that happened, but I have to tell you...I sure had fun using two of the brand new Fancy Dies from Hero Arts on these. The Triangle Background (DI089) and Love and Hello (DI088) dies make my heart go pitter-patter! Here's the card set I created with them:

The piece created by the Triangle Background Fancy Die was layered over a darker shade of cardstock on each card, creating a tone-on-tone effect. I thought it would be fun to accent with a few leftover triangles in contrasting colors, so I glued those right into place. This inset die cut technique is super simple to do, and I love that it keeps the layers/bulk to a minimum. The gold hearts are also inset in the same fashion.

I added metallic touches on each card with brushed gold cardstock and a sprinkling of gold sequins. The photo doesn't quite capture the shimmer -- it's so pretty in real life!

Here's a look at the new products I used on my cards. They're already arriving at participating Catalog Debut stores, and will be available in the Hero Arts Online Store on January 3rd, along with lots of fabulous stamps of course...plus dies, stencils, inks, daubers, sprays, and more!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Your next stop on the hop is the blog of the fabulously talented and fun Julie Ebersole. She always knocks my socks off. Click on over to see what she's created with some of the new stamps!

hero arts stamp your story blog hop

Hi there! I'm so happy to welcome you to my stop on the Hero Arts Stamp Your Story Blog Hop!

My mission for today is simple. Clean and simple, that is! I'll be sharing a couple of ideas for using some of Hero Arts' fabulous new Stamp Your Story stamps in a clean and simple way. This release truly has something for everyone -- cardmakers, scrapbookers, mixed media artists, whatever floats your boat! :)

First up is this one layer card I created with nothing but stamps, inks, and white cardstock. "Hello" was stamped with CL697 Journal Letters. Such a fun alphabet. The other elements (heart, dot border, and straight line border) come from the awesome CL696 Notebook Essentials. I adore this set -- don't tell the other stamps but it's probably my favorite from the entire release.

Next I'm sharing a sweet little friendship booklet. I'm not sure if "booklet" is even the right term, but let's go with it. :) The idea is to fill out the pages of the booklet with reasons why your friend (the recipient) fills your life with happiness. I pieced together various words from CL695 My Words to create the phrase on the front. I love that the words in this set can be combined in so many different ways. The sketchy heart comes from CL699 Sketchbook Letters.

Here's a look at one of the inside pages, ready for personalization. All of the pages were stamped using K5731 Notebook Paper, hole punched, and then numbers were added with CL699 Sketchbook Letters. A bit of baker's twine ties it all together.

In case you hadn't heard, the Stamp Your Story products featured in today's blog hop (and even more from the catalog HERE) are currently shipping to local stamp stores and will be available for purchase in the Hero Arts Online Store soon -- May 15th to be exact!
